What is a sweet fragrance?
A sweet fragrance belongs to the large gourmand family, born in the 90s with Thierry Mugler's Angel and widely developed ever since. What defines them are soft, warm, and edible notes (vanilla, caramel, almond, chocolate, candied fruits) often laid on a powdery or amber base that gives them longevity. Modern sweet scents are far from simple gourmandise: the best versions play on contrast, by incorporating a woody, musky, or even slightly smoky note to avoid cloyingness. The result is sensorial.

But behind it, the pyramid is much more complex than that: saffron, leather, pink pepper, cypriol, and a base of oud, benzoin, and vanilla that gives the sweetness an unexpected depth. It's an oriental sweet scent, designed by Stéphane Humbert Lucas, which plays on the tension between gourmand and mysterious. When to wear a sweet fragrance?
Sweet fragrances are often perceived as evening or winter scents. But contemporary formulas have greatly broadened the spectrum: a light, well-balanced sweet scent works perfectly for everyday wear, at the office, or even in summer when it plays on fruity and fresh notes. The real rule is concentration: a sweet Eau de Parfum is worn differently than an extract.
